When should I begin shopping for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses?
We recommend shopping for both bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses about 8 to 12 months before your wedding date. This will allow enough time for orders to be placed, received and alterations performed (if needed) in time for the big day. Gowns and dresses can be ordered inside of that timeframe, but may require rush fees from the designers to ensure the dresses are made and received on time. Bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses can become discontinued or costs of dresses can increase, so we recommend ordering as soon as you have found the perfect dresses for you and your bridal party.
What is the average price of a bridal gown? And what size samples do you have to try on in store?
At Eva’s Bridal Center, we have en extensive selection of bridal gowns ranging in prices from $100 to $4,500 allowing us to serve every bride at every budget. We do offer discount deals for bridal gowns that are sold off-the-rack or have been recently discontinued, which is a great way to save (starting at $100). In store, our stock sample dresses range from size 6 up to and including full figure sizes to accommodate every bride and their personal body shape and style interest.
Can I order a style that I don’t see in your store?
Absolutely! In store, we carry only a portion of our extensive designers’ collections and are able to order hundreds more gown styles for both bridal and bridesmaids. If you have seen your dream bridal gown somewhere else, check back with us because we do offer competitive pricing to give our brides a great deal.
How do I order my bridal gown?
After you select your bridal gown, we make the ordering process as simple as possible. We only require half of the original price as a down payment to place the order. The remaining balance of the gown is due within 2 weeks after the gown arrives at our store from the manufacturer. Also, at the time of ordering, we take your measurements and recommend a size for best fit based on the bridal industry measuring standards and the specific designer’s size chart. Ultimately, you choose what size you feel most comfortable ordering, along with your preferred color and length you select.
Do you accept returns?
All sales are final. There are no returns, exchanges or refunds, as bridal product is truly made to order based on the bride or bridesmaid order request. All sample or stock merchandise is sold as is.
How long will it take my bridal gown to arrive after it is ordered?
Both bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses take approximately 4-6 months, on average, to arrive at Eva’s Bridal after ordering, but can arrive sooner. Bridal gown orders containing custom changes, special measurements or lengths take approximately 6 months to arrive. Gowns are sent directly from the manufacturer to our store, where our staff inspects each gown making sure it meets our high quality standards. The bride is notified immediately when her gown and bridesmaid dresses arrive. To accommodate shorter ordering timeframes when necessary, most designers offer ‘rush’ delivery gown or dress fees to ensure the dresses can be ordered, made and shipped in time. However, we do recommend ordering your bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses 8 to 12 months prior to your wedding date to allow time for delivery, alterations and selection of accessories to match.
What if members of the bridal party are from out of town?
It is very common that either the bride and/ or members of her bridal party are out of town (or country) and will not be easily accessible for appointments or fittings. We are certainly able to accommodate you and your bridal party, regardless of your location and we do ship dresses, if needed, as well.
Do you offer alterations and when should they be started?
To make it easy and convenient for our customers, we do offer in-house alterations by a staff of dedicated and experienced seamstresses. For any bridal gown or bridesmaid dress, we do offer FREE alteration consultations that allow brides and bridesmaids to receive a quote on all alterations work to be performed before any work is started. Bridal gown alterations should be started approximately 2 months before the wedding date. Bridesmaid, Special Occasion, Mothers and Prom dresses should be started approximately 4 to 6 weeks before the event date. Appointments fill up quickly, so please call in advance to schedule your appointment.
What is required for my first alterations fitting?
For all alteration appointments, you will need to bring the shoes you will be wearing for the occasion and the proper undergarments. Before starting any alterations, the gown or dress must be paid in full. Also, half of the alteration charges will be due at the end of the first fitting.
